From organising fundraising events, to writing press releases, to finding new contacts for us to work with, there are lots of opportunities for you to offer vital support and become a #SNAPSSuperhero!

Why we need you

As a Fundraising and Events Volunteer, your support will be vital in helping us to deliver our fundraising activities and events to raise much needed funds for SNAPS. Not only will you support events being organised by SNAPS, you will also have the opportunity to pitch your own event and campaign ideas. This role is flexible and we will collaborate with you to make it work for you!

What you’ll be doing

  • Volunteering at events organised by SNAPS
  • Creating proposals for new events and fundraising campaigns
  • Organising your own mini-fundraisers, such as bake sales and collections
  • Support with placing collection tins in local businesses

This list is not exhaustive – your volunteering experience will be shaped by your ideas!

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who is enthusiastic and creative
  • Someone who is friendly and has good interpersonal skills
  • Someone with good time management and organisation skills
  • Good numerical skills and ability to handle cash confidently

What you’ll get out of volunteering with SNAPS

  • Developing organisation and cash handling skills
  • Building confidence and communication skills
  • Opportunities to pitch your own ideas!

How much time do I need to commit?

This is a flexible role and how much time you can commit is up to you and your personal circumstances. We would ideally like you to be available to help out at our events and organise a minimum of four mini fundraisers per year. As this role will mostly be remote, consistent communication with the Community Fundraising Managers is a must. You will be supported by the CFMs and, as our fundraising volunteer group grows, we will arrange volunteer meet ups.

Why we need you

As a Marketing and Awareness Volunteer, you will help to grow the profile of SNAPS and identify ways in which we can do this. Raising awareness is vital so we can reach more families who may need our support and reach more people who could support us as a charity. This role is flexible and we will collaborate with you to make it work for you!

What you’ll be doing

  • Support with digital marketing such as social media and our website
  • Traditional marketing such as distributing leaflets
  • Copywriting, such as press releases
  • Identifying opportunities for raising awareness e.g. awareness days and events

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who is enthusiastic and creative
  • Someone with good time management and organisation skills
  • Someone with good literacy and writing skills
  • Skills and background in marketing are desirable but not essential

What you’ll get out of volunteering with SNAPS

  • Developing marketing and copywriting skills
  • Building confidence and communication skills
  • Opportunities to pitch your own ideas!

As a Lead Generation Volunteer, you will be helping us identify new opportunities and contacts to increase our supporter base. This is vital so we can raise funds for and awareness of SNAPS. This role is flexible and we will collaborate with you to make it work for you!

What you’ll be doing

  • Seeking out connections with local businesses, schools and other relevant organisations
  • Identifying groups who could support us e.g. hobby groups, social clubs
  • Finding relevant contacts within organisations and groups
  • Research into fundraising and event trends

What we’re looking for

  • Someone with good research skills
  • Someone with good time management and organisation skills
  • Someone who can think ‘outside of the box’ and identify unique opportunities
