Chloe has been volunteering at SNAPS since September 2015. Initially, she got involved to gain valuable work experience working with children with disabilities and their families and demonstrate commitment to the Children’s Nursing course she’s now on. She has been completing her course at Sheffield University for two years. Chloe’s been such an asset to the team at Penny Field, that she’s recently been employed by us! She has decided to take a leap of faith for SNAPS and will be doing the charity skydive in aid of us.
“I have learnt so much at SNAPS! The work experience I have gained there has provided me with a vast amount of information and new skills that I’ve been able to take to University placements. I’ve learnt ways to communicate with non-verbal children and use this first-hand experience on the various placements. I also have background information and experience of working with children with so many conditions which I might only see the once whilst on placement.
I’m doing this charity skydive for SNAPS because I want to raise money for the charity as the benefits to the children and their families that access the service are so clear. I’ve wanted to do a skydive for some time now, therefore given the opportunity to do one for SNAPS, I (pardon the pun) jumped at the chance. The experience I have gained from SNAPS has helped me get onto my course at university and is helping me out through my studies so I want to give something back for the help I’ve received! I would be super appreciative for any sponsorship I can get, with every penny counting towards my £300 target!”
