Scope would like our families to know about the sessional inclusion workers that could help your family be more included in mainstream activities.
Have you or a family you work with ever felt reluctant to send your child to a mainstream activity? Did you worry they wouldn’t cope, or have their needs met? If the answer is yes, then Scope could help them to be included. Scope send one of their Sessional Inclusion Workers to attend with the child and at the same time work with the group, to make sure the group continue the support once the Sessional Worker withdraws.
What is a sessional worker?
Their team of sessional inclusion workers are deployed across Leeds to provide inclusive support for school aged children and young people with SEN and disabilities. The support is on a short-term basis and compliments the team at Activities for All in developing the practice of the group so the young person can continue after the support is withdrawn. The children must want to access mainstream (universal) local play & leisure activities for example, Scouts, youth clubs, sports, arts & craft clubs etc. The activities can be up to 2 hours long on a weekly basis.
Scope will ensure they feel welcome and they are supported with the sessional worker ‘bridging the gap’ between the young person and the setting. Scope will ensure universal local play & leisure activities are given the support they need to develop their inclusive practice and accessibility, and they take ownership of providing support to all children in their setting.
How do I apply?

4. They will contact you to get to know your child
