Thank you so much to Waitrose Meanwood for selecting us as a Green Token charity and donating £340.00.

Thank you to all the Aviva colleagues that donated to our Aviva Community Fund Crowdfunder and helped us raise £1,805.00 towards the 2021 SNAPS Superhero Zoom.

Thank you and well done to Ben for raising an amazing £625.24 for SNAPS through a 24 hour gaming live stream on Twitch!

Thank you so much to The Seedlings Foundation for providing a grant that will help us to provide craft, activity and care packs for the families we support while we’re not able to see them face-to-face.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to St James’s Place Foundation, who have supported us for a second year and helped us to adapt our services to provide virtual physiotherapy sessions during lockdown.

A big thank you to Matthew, who, along with a group of others, produced a song to raise funds for charity and donated a total of £112.50 (including Gift Aid) to SNAPS!

Finally, a huge thank you to our June donors: John, Deborah, Tom, Suzanne and Joseph. Between them, they donated over £375.00 to SNAPS!

A huge thank you to Dylan who raised an incredible £1,207.50 for SNAPS by hosting a virtual piano concert! Dylan had originally planned to host this at a venue, but took the initiative during lockdown and live streamed his fantastic concert with his family.

A very big thank you to SNAPS parent Jodie, who held a birthday fundraiser on Facebook and raised a wonderful £59.00 to support us. You are a superhero!

We would also like to say a huge thank you to The Alchemy Foundation and The Henhurst Charitable Trust, both of whom have made generous donations to help us continue our vital work.

Even though our superheroes can’t take part in physical events right now, it doesn’t stop them supporting us virtually! Thank you to Sarah, who took part in the 2.6 challenge and ran a marathon across 3 days on what would have been the weekend of the 40th London Marathon. Sarah will be taking part in the event on 4th October and you can support her fundraising here.

We have had the support of some incredibly generous donors since the lockdown started. Thank you so much to Andy, Craig, Patricia, Maria, Louise, Jen, Rachel, Kat and Chris who have donated a total of £317.50 between them!

A huge thank you to Hannah and the clubbersize group who have been raising funds for SNAPS recently. Vicky, a SNAPS Superhero and the group’s instructor, has been holding classes online during lockdown. To say thank you, the group decided to fundraise for a charity close to Vicky’s heart and have raised an amazing £186.25 so far! If you’d like to support their fundraising, you can do this here.

A big well done and thank you to Stuart, who ran the Pontefract 10K for SNAPS. It was Stuart’s first 10K and he ran it in under an hour! Not only did he smash his first race, he raised a wonderful £180.00 too!

We’ve recently seen a lot of events postponed, including the London Marathon. That didn’t stop Sarah though! Sarah took on the Local Landmarks Virtual Half Marathon and did her very own race for SNAPS – thank you for your support! You can support Sarah’s fundraising for SNAPS here.

We are saying a huge thank you to Louise and her family and friends, who held an online raffle in celebration of her granddaughter Ava Rose. Together they raffled off fantastic prizes from local businesses and raised an incredible £2775.50 in seven days! Well done Louise and Ava Rose!

 

A big thank you to Steve of Goderich Lodge Masonic Hall. Steve nominated SNAPS as his charity for his year as New Master at the lodge, which resulted in a wonderful donation of £461.10!

We are incredibly excited to announce the final total raised by Irwin Mitchell during our Charity of the Year partnership! Drum roll please…

Irwin Mitchell have raised a whopping £38,630.89!

This is a true reflection of all the hard work and dedication of the charity committee and the team at the Leeds office. Thank you so much for your incredible support over the past year!

Our first thank you goes to everyone who helped to organise our President’s Tea Party on 15th February and everyone who attended. It was a fantastic celebration of 16 years of SNAPS and we had a wonderful day!

We are also saying a huge thank you to the Meian Maid Café, a not-for-profit group who work exclusively in the North of the UK.  They raised funds at Toshocon, a one day convention dedicated to Japanese Anime and Manga at Leeds Central Library on 29th February. Meian Maids are a modern Japanese concept based on a traditional Geisha, where the maids serve Japanese snacks and cakes and perform dances to K-pop songs! Thank you for supporting SNAPS with this unique event!

Our last, but by no means least, community superhero is volunteer Albina. Albina has been a huge help to our fundraising team by helping us produce videos that demonstrate our work. She also helped Santa make his letter to SNAPS children look fantastic!

We have a couple of great corporate supporters to thank this month!

Firstly, a huge thank you to Vic at Irwin Mitchell for volunteering to be one of the elves that helped Santa write his letters to SNAPS children. Your help was hugely appreciated and you helped make our families feel festive!

We are also saying a big thank you to Karen at Lloyds Banking Group for helping to match the funds raised at Ben and Lora’s fundraiser in December 2019. With Lloyd’s help, the event raised over £2,700!

We are absolutely delighted to announce the final total raised from Sarah Dunn’s Butterfly Effect Fundraiser! Throughout 2019, Sarah, her family and her friends joined together to raise vital funds for three causes, SNAPS being one of them. They did this through bake sale, auctions and marathons, to mention a few! Their efforts have resulted in an incredible £1,552 raised for SNAPS – thank you so much to Sarah and everyone involved!

A big thank you to Christine and Steve for their recent generous donation to SNAPS too. Christine and Steve have been crowdfunding to help their daughter Zoe participate in research for INAD (Infantile Neuro Axonal Dystrophy), raise funds for the INADCure Foundation and support local charities such as SNAPS. Irwin Mitchell topped off a fantastic year of fundraising with a Christmas Market Place at the office! The team at Irwin Mitchell have been true SNAPS Superheroes throughout 2019 and we have loved working alongside them to raise vital funds for our service. Thank you to everyone at Irwin Mitchell!

Our SNAPS Superheroes have shown true community spirit this December! We start with our very own Penny Field and Broomfield services.

Broomfield held a Christmas fair on 7th December and raised an incredible £431.70!

Penny Field had their annual Christmas party on 14th December and raised an amazing £243.57.

We are also saying a big thank you to Broomfield parents Kathy and Danielle, who have worked hard throughout 2019 to provide lunchboxes and baked treats for families at Broomfield and raised vital funds for SNAPS in the process.

Penny Field parent Debbie has also been a SNAPS Superhero by helping to organise lots of fun activities each week for the children, bake sales and food for the SNAPS Christmas party too!

SNAPS parents Ben Milner and Lora Bedford held a fundraiser on 19th December to support Ben’s upcoming London to Amsterdam cycling challenge. There was a raffle, a quiz and some brave souls even has their legs waxed and heads shaved to support SNAPS! The evening raised a whopping £1,301.26 – thank you Ben and Lora!

Alicia raised a wonderful £30 by baking and decorating these stunning SNAPS cookies. They were a huge hit at the Penny Field tuck shop – thank you Alicia!

We are also celebrating the people who donate to SNAPS every month. Thank you to Louise, Heather, Howard and Peter – you’ve donated a total of £946.25!

Irwin Mitchell have continued to deliver fabulous fundraising ideas and held a colourful clothes day at the office, raising a wonderful £32.00. Thank you to everyone who donned their brightest outfits!

You may remember Hartshorne Group’s Alfreton and Nottingham teams organised a Halloween charity event last month…we are delighted to say they raised an incredibly £4,023.64 for SNAPS! Well done and thank you!

Our challenge superheroes this month are SNAPS mum Lyndsey Fletcher and her family. They ran a 5k for SNAPS at Thornes Park Parkrun and raised a fabulous £137.50! Thank you to everyone who took part.

Our very own Penny Field parents and children were absolute superstars this month and contributed to some fantastic treats to a bake sale at the service. The cakes went down a storm and raised £98.81 for SNAPS!

We’re celebrating Irwin Mitchell again for hosting a fabulous gin tasting evening to support us as their charity of the year! Thank you so much to everyone who organised the evening and took part.

A big thank you to the team from Irwin Mitchell who also took on the Abbey Dash on 27th October and raised an amazing £388.75!

 

Thank you so much to the team at Sheppee International who took on the Yorkshire Marathon relay on 20th October to support SNAPS. The team raised an incredible £2,225!

A big thank you to the Hartshorne Group Alfreton and Nottingham teams for supporting SNAPS Penny Field through their spooktacular Halloween Fancy Dress event on 26th October!

Our challenge superhero this month is SNAPS parent Sarah Dunn. Sarah has been fundraising for SNAPS all year and on 20th October took on the Yorkshire Marathon to support us, completing it in 5:31:34! Sarah has already raised over £1,000 for SNAPS – thank you so much! You can read her story here.

This month we welcomed a whole school of superheroes into our ranks as Fulneck School in Pudsey have chosen us as their charity to support for this school year! Thank you to all of the staff and pupils. We can’t wait to work with you on some exciting plans!


Oliver became a superhero on his 4th birthday by asking for donations instead of presents! Oliver celebrated in style and raised a wonderful £265 for SNAPS. Thank you Oliver!

Our very own Jenn, who is the Assistant Manager at Penny Field, also celebrated her birthday by supporting SNAPS with a Facebook fundraiser. Jenn raised a fab £50 for us – thank you Jenn!

Our corporate partner Irwin Mitchell have truly earned their superhero stripes this month!

They were awesome cheerleaders for the mini superheroes taking part in the SNAPS Superhero Zoom!

A team of over 30 employees also took part in an 11 mile walk to support SNAPS and raised £3,000. A huge thank you to Irwin Mitchell for their support this month!

 

Our first challenge superheroes are Aqeel, Steve, Paul and Tom, who have raised over £1,600 in sponsorship for the Great North Run! A huge thank you to you all.

They are joined by Nathan Dring, who took on the epic challenge of an off road triathlon. Nathan has raised nearly £1,000 for SNAPS – well done and thank you!

We also had daredevil Laura Wilson take the plunge and complete her Skydive for SNAPS. Her brave challenge has raised an amazing £339.90 – thank you Laura!

Our final challenge superhero is 7-year-old India Tod. India and her dad climbed Scafell Pike in honour of her cousin Olive, who is supported by SNAPS. India raised an incredible £615.00 – well done India! Read more about India’s challenge.

We have lots of community superheroes this month – over 60 in fact! A huge thank you to all the children who took part in the SNAPS Superhero Zoom with their families on 15th September and made our first ever Zoom a truly memorable one!

The Zoom wouldn’t have been possible without our superstar volunteers who helped with the organisation and running of the event. Thank you so much to everyone who supported this event!

Our first community superheroes are Co-op Food on High Ash Drive, Leeds, who have repeatedly filled up collection tins for us throughout the year and have raised a fabulous £300.21 so far! Thank you to the staff and customers at High Ash Co-op.

They are joined by our second hero, Clare Ambler. Clare set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook and raised a wonderful £66.98 to celebrate her big day. Thank you Clare!

Irwin Mitchell have continued to be fantastic supporters of SNAPS in July by supporting us at the Broomfield Summer Fair on 20th July. Thank you so much!

Members of our very own SNAPS team, along with staff at HSBC, took on a two hour high-intensity Jumpathon on 3rd July to raise vital funds. They raised a whopping £1,217.75, which is to be matched by HSBC! Read more here.

Our SNAPS Superheroes were on a roll that week, as a team of heroes took on the Leeds 10K on 7th July! The nine-strong team conquered the course and raised an incredible £5,236.11! Thank you to Mujtaba, George, Eve, Sanna, Lucie, Lisa, Eloise, Rebecca and Kate. Read more here.

A huge thank you to Parent Trustee Lora Bedford, who organised a charity fun night at Barnbow Social Club. It was a night full of fun and fundraising, with a wonderful £859.29 raised on the night! This will also partly be matched by Lloyds Bank. Read more here.

Our very own Broomfield and Penny Field have also been heroes in July! Penny Field held a bake sale with lots of yummy treats. Broomfield organised their very own summer fair with loads of fun activities, raising a fantastic £561.00!

In July we also received the amazing news that the University of Leeds Staff Festival, which SNAPS was chosen as charity partner for this year, raised £2,442.28! This is the event’s second highest ever total – well done to everyone involved! Read more here.

A huge thank you as well to parent Danni Howcroft for raising a brilliant £60 by raffling a choice of nail treatment through her business Facebook page!

We are also incredibly grateful to have received incredibly generous donations from the Garfield Weston Foundation, St James’s Place Charitable Foundation and the Sir George Martin Trust. The grants they have awarded to us will help fund our vital physiotherapy and support services.

Amanda Stubbs, Shelley Dring, Gareth Christie and Sarah Dunn were all part of our Leeds Half Superhero Team in May – between them, they’ve raised a whopping £5,730 for SNAPS!

Our second shout out goes to Vicky Hull and Andrew Pine, who both took on the London Marathon for SNAPS. Vicky raised an incredible £946.25 (read more here) and Andrew ran to support Sarah Dunn’s Butterfly Effect fundraiser.
